Description

• Support maintenance engineering and reliability activities for railway systems and subsystems across their operational lifecycle.
• Perform failure analysis and troubleshooting on railway systems such as TCMS, signalling interfaces, onboard electrical and electronic systems, identifying root causes and defining corrective actions.
• Implement and manage the FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System) process to systematically collect failure data, analyse root causes, and track corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyse maintenance data, operational logs and failure statistics to identify reliability trends and support predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Contribute to the definition and optimization of maintenance plans, maintenance procedures and troubleshooting documentation.
• Support engineering and operations teams during testing, commissioning and operational phases, providing technical expertise on system failures and maintenance topics.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis (RCA) to ensure effective resolution of technical issues.
• Monitor system performance indicators (RAM KPIs) and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet reliability and maintainability.
• Ensure compliance with applicable railway standards, operational procedures and project requirements.
• Interface with engineering teams, maintenance teams, project managers and customer stakeholders.
• Reporting to Customer internal team.

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in railway engineering, preferably in maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, fleet support, or system engineering.
• Experience working with railway subsystems, particularly TCMS, signalling systems, and onboard electrical/electronic equipment.
• Practical experience in failure analysis, troubleshooting and root cause analysis within railway systems.
• Understanding of RAMS principles (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) and maintenance processes within the railway domain.
• Experience with FRACAS methodology or reliability data analysis tools is considered a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of CENELEC standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129) and applicable railway regulations (e.g. CSM / Regulation 402) is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering environments and interact with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluency in English is a must. Fluency in German (B2 level) is a plus.
