Senior Project Manager – Automotive ADAS

Description
  • Develop, maintain and drive project schedules and milestone plans to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitor development status and action resolution through an open points list (OPL) and other tracking artifacts.
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams and ensure effective information transfer using task and issue-management tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Manage stakeholder interfaces, including test management, error/fault management, suppliers and client representatives.
  • Plan, schedule and document meetings and approvals with clients and stakeholders.
  • Produce and maintain development and release plans, and prepare approval recommendations.
  • Identify, evaluate and track program risks; define and follow mitigation actions.
  • Coordinate and analyze functional performance requirements, including legal, customer and consumer requirements.
  • Create and review logbooks, product descriptions and related documentation.
  • Provide and validate information required to meet functional safety and cybersecurity objectives.
  • Review system security requirements and contribute to security concept development for ADAS functions.
  • Participate in and review preparation of verification and validation plans, including proving-ground test plans and results.

Job requirements

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in automotive project management, with demonstrable leadership of ADAS or related software/hardware programs.
  • Several years’ hands-on experience in development of distributed ADAS functions, particularly (ACC, WBA, and MRR).
  • In-depth knowledge of VW-PEP (process and gate requirements) or equivalent OEM program processes.
  • Proven experience with version/configuration management tools and processes.
  • Practical experience organizing, planning and managing proving-ground testing, including familiarity with Euro NCAP, UN-R and NHTSA test specifications and requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with project and issue-tracking systems (e.g., JIRA) and MS Office; familiarity with DOORS, Polarion or similar requirements-management tools is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience preparing approval recommendations and stakeholder presentations.
  • Demonstrated risk-management experience and ability to drive corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434) considerations in ADAS development.
  • Willingness to travel to proving grounds, supplier sites and client locations as required.
  • Prior experience with OEM program management and supplier coordination.
  • Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
  • Fluency in both German and English.
